After a long career in the pharmaceutical sector, with such prestigious assignments as managing director of Adivar and general manager of Fater, SpA (both of the Angelini group), industrial chemist Manlio Cocchini entered the field of fashions when he became managing director and general manager of Gilmar Divisione Industria, SpA, in 1999. Gilmar is a company producing clothing that was founded in 1960 by Silvano Gerani and is located at San Giovanni in Marignano in Rimini province. This year, the group opened new Iceberg shops in Florence-in a 15th-century structure in Via della Vigna Nuova that was designed by Leon Battista Alberti-Capri, Porto Cervo and, in a 2,691-square-foot space in Viale Ceccarini in Riccione. In addition, negotiations are under way for new, exclusive retail shops in Verona and Amsterdam. However, it is closing its exclusive stores on Madison Avenue in New York and Sloane Street in London. Iceberg will still focus on the "big apple" but on the busier Fifth Avenue.
