Nerio Alessandri developed his first fitness appliance in his garage in 1983. Today, the 44-year old visionary stands at the peak. His company, Technogym, headquartered in Gambettola/Italy, has more than 1000 employees worldwide. Over 30,000 Fitness and Rehab Centres and 20,000 private households are equipped with Technogym machines. Technogym continues to be the leading provider of premium fitness appliances in Europe, Asia and South America, and among the top 3 in the world. An innovative vision and a staunch commitment to promoting a better lifestyle through regular physical activity, a healthy diet and a positive mental approach is how Technogym defines Wellness. Alessandri, Italy's youngest ‘Cavaliere del Lavoro’, and Technogym have been continuously recognized for excellence. In 2003 Ernst & Young awarded Alessandri the Italian Entrepreneur of the Year.
