Chief Executive Officer, Bulgari Group

Francesco Trapani is Chief Executive Officer of the Bulgari Group, the Italian contemporary jeweler and today one of the leading global players in the luxury market offering world famous fine jewelry, watches, accessories and fragrances.

After receiving his degree in Economics from the University of Naples and studying Business Administration at the New York University, Francesco Trapani became the Company’s Chief Executive in 1984. Starting from the ‘80s Bulgari expanded internationally and Mr. Trapani brought to the Company both financial planning and a long-term strategy based on product diversification, global distribution as well as professional organization.

In July 1995 Mr. Trapani successfully led the listing of Bulgari SpA on the Italian Stock Exchange and the stock is also currently traded on the IRS service of the London Stock Exchange. In May 2000 Francesco Trapani participated in creating Opera, an international fund investing in goods and services of the Italian lifestyle. Bulgari is the largest investor, owning about 12.0% of shares, and also acting as co-manager of the fund with 50% of the management company. The same year the Bulgari Group acquired 100% of Gerald Genta S.A., Daniel Roth S.A., Swiss leaders in high-end watch making, and Manufacture de Haute Horlogerie S.A., the owner of the related manufacturing facilities. In February 2001 Bulgari announced the creation of Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts, a joint venture between Bulgari and Marriott International / Ritz-Carlton.
Through these steps, the Bulgari Group has become a major success story within the luxury business.

Born in Rome in 1957 and son of Agostino Trapani and Lia Bulgari, Francesco Trapani is legally separated and has three children. He fluently speaks Italian, English and French.
He personally owns a 4.43% share of the company.
