Alessandro SARTORI

Artistic Director, Berluti

Alessandro Sartori is an Italian fashion designer born in Biella, northern Italy, in 1966. He is currently Artistic Director at Berluti – LVMH Group based in Paris. He received a degree in textile engineering in Biella, followed by a fashion degree in Milan in 1989.

In 2003 he became Creative Director of the new “Z Zegna” line at Ermenegildo Zegna. Z Zegna was launched at Pitti Uomo and its first show took place in New York in February 2007. Z Zegna successfully appeared at five Fashion Weeks in New York, and then in Milan beginning in June 2009. On 1 July 2011 Alessandro Sartori was appointed Artistic Director at Berluti, shoemaker since 1895, by Pietro Beccari and Antoine Arnault, respectively Chairman and CEO of the House, with the aim of creating a luxury total look. He unveiled his first collection at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts on 20 January 2012, with footwear occupying rows of chairs lined up as if for a fashion show.

It was lauded by WWD as “an impressive debut.”
