Member of the Bulgari family (his mother is Lia Bulgari ), after having earned a degree in Business from the University of Naples and spent three years as assistant to the Chief Financial Officer of Bulgari company, in 1984 he became CEO of Bulgari. He has developed and implemented a successful long-term strategy based on product diversification, distribution expansion, aggressive investments in communication and a highly professional organization structure .

In 1995 Francesco Trapani has successfully led the listing of Bulgari at the Italian Stock Exchange, with the Bulgari family as the controlling shareholder.

Through these steps, what in 1984 was a small jewelry company with a turnover of approximately EUR 25 million , 5 shops and 80 employees , has become the Bulgari Group , one of the leading global players in the luxury market , with a turnover of approximately EUR 1.5 billion, 4.000 employees and 300 stores worldwide .

In 2011 Bulgari joined forces with the LVMH Group: at the time of the transaction the company was valued EUR 4.3 billion.
Francesco Trapani had been the Chairman of the LVMH Watches and Jewelry Division (EUR 3 billion turnover) for the next three years  and is still a member of the Board of Directors of LVMH  and advisor of Mr Bernard Arnault, Chairman of LVMH Group.

In March 2014 he joined Clessidra Sgr as shareholder, Executive Vice-Chairman and Operating Partner.

Born in Rome , Francesco Trapani is 57 years old , is married and has three children
