Arturo Artom is the founder and CEO of Muvis, the Italian Company that invented the first ever intelligent lighting system, by combining design and innovation. The technology introduced by Muvis allows to remotely control , thanks to a digital radio protocol, the movement, the direction, the color and the intensity of each lamp of the system. Mr Artom is in the telecommunications business since the early '90s, when
the European Countries first started the liberalisation process in the
telecommunications market. In 1993 Mr Artom founded and headed Telsystem, the first company in Italy to provide an alternative phone service for business customers. In the following years Mr Artom upgraded his background in the telecoms business, first as Managing Director of Infostrada
long-distance phone service, then as Head of the Corporate Division of
Omnitel, followed by the leadership of Viasat, a leading company in the
satellite positioning system business, as CEO. In 2000 Mr Artom founded
Netsystem SpA, which in 2-year time has established its leadership in Europe
in the ADSL via satellite, the technology chosen by Telecom Italia and other
European operators to overcome the digital divide in those areas not reached
by the terrestrial high-speed Internet connections.
Late in 2004 Mr. Artom founded his own venture company, Artom Innovazione, with the aim of investing in new, innovative companies capable to re-invent the traditional made in Italy products. The first of such investments was made in Muvis that is quickly becoming an international case study because of this “contamination” between design and technology.
