Diego SELVA
Co-Head Investment Banking Italy, Bank of America Merrill Lynch
Diego is Co-Head of Investment Banking in Italy at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Formerly he was responsible for the firm’s Equity Capital Markets activities in Italy and Central Eastern Europe.
Diego has been with Bank of America Merrill Lynch since 1996, spending many years in the London and Singapore offices before moving to Milan where he is now based.
Throughout his career Diego has assisted several Italian leading players in the branded and luxury goods sector. Notable transactions include the sale of Moncler, the Initial Public Offering of Aeffe, Damiani, Poltrona Frau, Safilo, Geox and Tod’s and the sale of a minority stake in Ferrari.
Over the years Diego has also developed a unique experience in capital raisings by Italian issuers, having advised in many of the most relevant equity transactions since the beginning of the financial chrisis. Main assignments include the rights issues for Unicredit, Intesa San Paolo, Monte dei Paschi, Banco Popolare, Enel, Snam Rete Gas and Telecom Italia Media, the convertible for Hera and Beni Stabili, the accelerated sale of a stake in Prysmian.
Diego has a Degree in Economics (cum laude) from Bocconi University and has also participated to the International Management Programme by Stern Business School in New York.
